October 2nd.  Left Beaver at 0900 and left for the Great Basin National Park arriving at 1300 hours.  Set up the trailer in the Baker campground.  These campgrounds are primitive but fine for our explorations.  In the evening we walked up one of the trails after dinner and saw three beautiful Muley bucks.  One was a four point and one a two point and the other a spike.  We took some pictures, but they don’t show up very well.

October 3rd.  Ran up to the top of the road at 10,800 feet and started on a hike up the Alpine Lakes Trail, a short 3-mile loop and came to another trail at about 1.5 miles that was to a glacier.  It was only supposed to be 1.9 miles.  Three longest 2 miles in our life and it was full of rock as the pictures will show.  Also, if you’ve ever been on Mt Baker, this glacier wasn’t to write home about.
